Vehicle Enters Tioga River in One Vehicle Crash, No Injuries

A Tioga teen was uninjured when the vehicle he was driving entered the Tioga River on Wednesday, June 8th.

According to police, the 16-year-old male was driving a 2005 Pontiac Montana in a south direction on State Route 287. After the teen fell asleep, the vehicle veered off the roadway and traveled onto a grass berm. The vehicle traveled for approximately 180 feet. Then, the vehicle hit some trees and entered the river. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle became fully submerged after the driver got out. The crash happened at about 4:20 p.m.

The driver faces a careless driving violation.


Pair Robs Buchanan Brother’s Pharmacy in Elkland Borough, Suspects at Large

Buchanan Brother’s Pharmacy in Elkland Borough was robbed on Tuesday, May 31st.

According to the Elkland Police, a male and female suspect walked into the building located at 206 West Main Street and handed a note to the clerk. The note instructed the clerk to give drugs to the suspects. The clerk complied, and the suspects fled the scene.The robbery occurred at about 9:40 a.m.

Police investigated and issued arrest warrants for 35-year-old Christopher S. McCormick of Tioga and 35-year-old Angela M. Cox/Watson, also of Tioga. The last time McCormick and Cox were seen, they were traveling in a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier that is red in color. The vehicle has the Pennsylvania registration number HCY-5531.
