Alleged Muncy Smokers Express, Loyalsock Township Sheetz Robber Nabbed

A Muncy man was arrested after he allegedly robbed several Lycoming County businesses in the past several days, including the Smokers Express in Muncy Borough and the Sheetz in Loyalsock Township.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville in a report, 43-year-old Gerald Thompson of Muncy allegedly robbed the Smokers Express at knife-point and allegedly ordered the cashier to give him cash on Friday, May 27th, during the evening hours. During the evening hours of Saturday, May 28th, Thompson allegedly ordered a female victim to give him money. The victim was in her parked car in the Pier 87 parking lot. Thompson allegedly threatened to cut her if she did not comply with his demands for money. During the morning hours of Sunday, May 29th, Thompson allegedly broke into the Loyalsock Hotel. Once inside, Thompson allegedly tried to open the cash register in order to steal money. However, the cash register would not open. Also on Sunday, May 29th, Thompson allegedly robbed the Loyalsock Township Sheetz at knife-point. Although initial scanner reports indicated that the Sheetz was robbed at gunpoint, the police report states that it was actually robbed at knife-point. Thompson allegedly got away with about $700. The Sheetz robbery occurred at about 5:45 a.m.

After police found Thompson later on Sunday, May 29th, they took him into custody. He was arrested on a warrant that was issued by the Muncy Police Department.
