Hughesville Man Faces Felony Charges in Connection with April Crash

A Hughesville man is facing felony charges in connection with an April crash in which a woman suffered serious injuries.

27-year-old Truber S. Moore is facing the following charges: felony accidents involving death of personal injury, driving without a license, and careless driving. Moore was driving while he had a suspended license when the crash occurred. Valerie Wohlfer-White was injured in a two vehicle crash that occurred on Route 220 on April 12th during the morning hours. According to police, Wohlfer-White suffered from a few broken ribs, broken vertebrae, and both her legs were broken. She was treated and discharged from Danville’s Geisinger Medical Center.

Moore was placed in Lycoming County Prison, and he met his $5,000 bail. Please remember that the accused is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

2 Pennsdale Tractor Supply Co and Petco Employees Facing Theft Charges

According to the Muncy Township Police Department, two men are facing theft charges after they allegedly stole from their Pennsdale employers.

26-year-old Kyle L. Jones of Williamsport allegedly stole $6,800 from the Tractor Supply Co. located at 42 Eastern Mall Drive. The alleged theft occurred from the middle of January to April. According to polcie, Jones allegedly submitted 49 fake returns using made up customer names and then he allegedly kept the money. Jones is facing charges including felony theft and receiving stolen property, and he was arraigned in front of District Judge Jon E. Kemp. He is already on probation for a DUI charge. Jones is currently in Lycoming County Prison for violating his probation. His bail is set at $35,000.

In a separate case, 25-year-old Frank J. Herrero of Williamsport allegedly stole over $500 in merchandise from the Petco located at 320 South Lycoming Mall Road. According to police, Herrero allegedly submitted fake returns from the middle of October to the middle of March. Herrero is facing charges including theft by deception, misdemeanor, conspiracy, and shoplifting. He was issued a summons to appear in front of Kemp. 21-year-old Adam R. Post II, who is Herrero’s roommate and used to work at Petco, was previously charged with theft by deception, conspiracy, and receiving stolen property. Post allegedly stole $43 in merchandise. Post was also issued a summons.

Hughesville Man Faces Assault Charge After Allegedly Harassing 2, Trying to Fight Troopers

A Hughesville man is facing assault charges after he allegedly harassed two people and then allegedly tried fighting police officers on Thursday, May 19th, in Lycoming County’s Wolf Township.

31-year-old Joshua P. Kapp allegedly harassed a 16-year-old boy and a 23-year-old woman at their Orchard Avenue home located at the Peterman’s Trailer Court. According to police, the woman and the boy hid in a bathroom with the door locked. Then, Kapp exited the home and allegedly tried fighting a neighbor. Kapp also allegedly tried tackling two troopers who responded to the scene. Kapp was allegedly intoxicated.

Kapp was arrested and placed in Lycoming County Prison. He is facing charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, criminal trespassing, and disorderly conduct. His arraignment was in front of District Judge Jerry C. Lepley. His bail was set at $75,000. Williamsport Couple Who Allegedly Stole Money From Grandmother Held For Court

A Williamsport couple who is facing charges stemming from an August 2014 incident in which they allegedly stole money from the husband’s grandmother is being held for court.

On Tuesday, District Judge Christian Frey decided that 33-year-old Justin M. Stugart and 31-year-old Rochelle A. Stugart should be held for court. Frey’s decision came after the victim, Lucille Buchta, and the lead investigator gave testimonies. The Stugarts face the following felony charges: theft, receiving stolen property, burglary, conspiracy, and trespassing. They are currently free on $35,000 bail a piece.

The Stugarts allegedly stole almost $40,000 from Buchta on August 24th, 2014. Buchta’s house is located by Maynard and Second streets. The Stugarts were there visiting with their six children. According to city police Agent Raymond O. Kontz III, Rochelle allegedly distracted Buchta on the front porch by talking to her while Justin allegedly took the money from a safe located in Buchta’s bedroom. Buchta did not notice that the money was missing until August 28th when she was going to get some of it in order to pay a vet bill.

According to Kontz in an affidavit, Buchta called Justin and asked him to come to her house. Justin was allegedly crying and seemed upset. He allegedly asked his grandmother for forgiveness when he allegedly admitted to her that he took the money. However, the amount of money that Justin said he took is $1,200. Shots Allegedly Fired in Williamsport on Tuesday Evening

According to the Williamsport police, there were reports of shots being fired in Williamsport on Tuesday night.

People reported hearing shots sometime between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The shots were heard near High Street, Grier Street, and Park Avenue. There were later reports of a house allegedly being hit on Park Avenue’s 1100 block. Although unconfirmed, a female might have been injured. There is no other information about the alleged shooting at this time.

 

Alleged Muncy Smokers Express, Loyalsock Township Sheetz Robber Nabbed

A Muncy man was arrested after he allegedly robbed several Lycoming County businesses in the past several days, including the Smokers Express in Muncy Borough and the Sheetz in Loyalsock Township.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Montoursville in a report, 43-year-old Gerald Thompson of Muncy allegedly robbed the Smokers Express at knife-point and allegedly ordered the cashier to give him cash on Friday, May 27th, during the evening hours. During the evening hours of Saturday, May 28th, Thompson allegedly ordered a female victim to give him money. The victim was in her parked car in the Pier 87 parking lot. Thompson allegedly threatened to cut her if she did not comply with his demands for money. During the morning hours of Sunday, May 29th, Thompson allegedly broke into the Loyalsock Hotel. Once inside, Thompson allegedly tried to open the cash register in order to steal money. However, the cash register would not open. Also on Sunday, May 29th, Thompson allegedly robbed the Loyalsock Township Sheetz at knife-point. Although initial scanner reports indicated that the Sheetz was robbed at gunpoint, the police report states that it was actually robbed at knife-point. Thompson allegedly got away with about $700. The Sheetz robbery occurred at about 5:45 a.m.

After police found Thompson later on Sunday, May 29th, they took him into custody. He was arrested on a warrant that was issued by the Muncy Police Department.
