Two Injured, One Seriously, in DUI Suspected Delmar Township Crash

Two people were injured, one seriously, in an accident that occurred Wednesday, May 8th, in Delmar Township.

According to police, 20-year-old Michael S. Hockenberry of Wellsboro was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado in a north direction on Dantz Run Road at speeds that were considered to be unsafe. Hockenberry lost control of the vehicle when he tried to drive along a curve in the road. The vehicle spun around before traveling across the road. The vehicle moved to the berm and hit a tree. The vehicle was still rotating when Hockenberry was thrown from the vehicle through the passenger window. Then, the vehicle rolled over. The vehicle traveled for about 60 feet down an embankment and rested in a wooded area. The crash occurred at about 2:05 a.m.

Hockenberry, who was not wearing his seat belt, was seriously injured. He was taken to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital to be treated. Hockenberry’s passenger, 28-year-old James D. Akeley of Covington, had minor injuries. Akeley was wearing his seat belt. Hockenberry was charged with a moving violation, and he might also face other charges. Motorcycle Rolls Over in Covington Township, 2 Injured

Two people were injured after a motorcycle rolled over in Covington Township on Sunday, May 29th.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Mansfield in a report, 76-year-old Harold M. Alexander of Franklinville, NY, was driving a 2011 Harley-Davidson Trike in an east direction on SR660. 61-year-old Paula E. Raymond who is also from Franklinville, NY, was a passenger on the motorcycle. After Alexander failed to drive along a left curve, he lost control of the motorcycle. The motorcycle moved to the roadway’s southern berm. When Alexander tried to correct the motorcycle’s movements, the motorcycle started to skid in the gravel. Alexander guided the motorcycle back onto the roadway before the motorcycle overturned. The motorcycle rested in an eastern direction in the eastbound lane. The crash occurred about 591 feet to the west of Starks Road at approximately 12:24 p.m.

Both Alexander and Raymond, who were both wearing their helmets, had injuries of unknown severity. They were both taken from the scene via Mansfield EMS before being flown to Robert Packer Hospital. The motorcycle had minor damage. Alexander was charged with a moving violation.
