A Bradford man is behind bars after he allegedly stole a TV and several other items from a Bradford, McKean County residence on Sunday, June 5th, as caught on security camera.
Jake Miller, 19, was at the 59 Jefferson Street residence on the evening of Saturday, June 4th. He was visiting the resident’s daughter. Miller left via the front door. According to court records, the family found that a TV, laptop, gaming systems, and games had been stolen when they woke up on Sunday morning.
According to Bradford police, Miller was caught on camera allegedly stealing the items. A neighbor reported to police that he witnessed a parked vehicle in front of the home as shown on his security camera footage. The video footage also shows people returning to the car with what looks like the stolen items. According to a WESB report, Officer Richard T. Obermeyer said he is familiar with Miller and believes he is the person in the security video. The victim and her daughter also believe the person in the video is Miller. Magisterial District Judge Dominic A. Cercone Jr. on June 6, 2016 presided over the preliminary arraignment for Miller. Miller was arraigned at the Magisterial District Court 48-1-01. Miller was assigned bail in the amount of $10,000. Miller was unable to meet bail and was remanded to the McKean County Prison pending the next hearing. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 9, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., also in front of Magisterial District Judge Dominic A. Cercone Jr.
Richard T. Obermeyer of the Bradford City Police Department is listed as the arresting officer for Miller. The charges relate to an alleged incident that happened on June 5, 2016.
