One person was seriously injured when a vehicle left the ground before overturning in Lafayette Township on Monday, June 6th, 2016.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Kane in a report, 18-year-old Damon T. Davis of Kane was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am in a west direction on Town Line Road. Davis lost control of the vehicle while he was trying to negotiate a left hand turn. The vehicle started to exit the roadway on the north side. After Davis over-corrected, the vehicle nearly went into a ditch located on the road’s south side. Davis over-corrected once more, and the vehicle traveled across the roadway and hit an embankment. Then, the vehicle left the ground and rolled over. The crash occurred on Town Line Road close to where it intersects with Forestery Road 316 at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Davis was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center by Mt. Jewett EMS. His injuries are likely serious. Davis was not wearing his seat belt. Davis’s passenger, a 17-year-old from Kane, was not injured. He was also not wearing his seat belt. Davis was charged with a moving violation. The Lafayette Fire Department and Buzzards also helped at the scene. The Tioga Freedomist extends our thoughts and prayers to the family of the injured.
