East Smithfield Man Injured in Home Invasion Attack

An East Smithfield man was injured in a home invasion attack that occurred in his home on Tuesday, June 7th.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda, three men allegedly broke into the Smithfield Township home of William M. Ewing just before 2:00 a.m. Once inside the home, the men allegedly physically assaulted Ewing as they attempted to take his money. The incident took place at a residence along State Route 4014.

Ewing told police that two of the men had ski masks over their faces, while the other man had a handkerchief covering his face. According to what Ewing told police, all three men fled the scene prior to police arriving. Ewing was taken to Robert Packer Hospital for treatment.
