Vehicle Catches Fire in Coudersport, No Injuries

A vehicle caught fire in Coudersport on Friday, June 3rd.

According to the Sweden Township Police Department, the vehicle fire was close to 1400 Brookland Road. The vehicle was in the northbound lane. Police responded at about 4:00 p.m. Fire Chief Tim Haskins arrived to find the vehicle, a Subaru Legacy, fully involved. Engine 48-2 was able to put the fire out. The roadway was heavily damaged, and PennDOT was told about it.

The vehicle’s owner, Ulysses resident Joanne Cowburn, was uninjured. The vehicle was insured. The Coudersport Fire Department, Kightlingers, and PennDOT helped at the scene. Traffic had to be stopped while the fire was put out.
