Elmira NY Teen Faces Weapon Charge After Shot Fired Into Apartment

A 16-year-old Elmira, NY, teen is facing weapon and drug charges after a shot was fired in an apartment on Friday, June 3rd.

According to the Elmira Police Department, there were reports of a gunshot being fired at 253 West Hudson Street in Elmira, NY. Police responded to the scene at about half past 9:00 p.m. They discovered that a single round was fired from a lower apartment. The shot went through the apartment above the apartment where the shot was fired. Nobody was injured in the incident.

After police investigated, they allegedly found a semi automatic handgun which was loaded and several caliber rounds of ammunition. In addition, police allegedly found crack cocaine and materials used to package drugs. The 16-year-old teen is facing the following two felony charges: criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.
