A woman from Bath, New York, was arrested after she allegedly stabbed a man on Monday, September 19th.
The Village of Bath Police Department and troopers with the New York State Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the vicinity of 7162 State Route 42 in Bath, NY, at approximately 9:45 p.m. The victim was walking when police arrived on scene. According to police, 46-year-old Amy Jo Ayers had allegedly stabbed the man.
The victim, 46-year-old Joseph Hojnoski, had a stab wound in his back. While Hojnoski was initially taken to Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital, he was transferred to Robert Packer Hospital’s intensive care unit in Sayre, PA. According to police, Hojnoski’s condition was stable as of Thursday, September 22nd.
Ayers was charged with felony assault and felony reckless endangerment. After her arraignment in the Town of Bath Court, she was placed in Steuben County Jail. The judge set her bail at $10,000 cash/$20,000 property. Ayers is due back in court in the future.
